FAQs

Tradefox supported browsers and system requirements

To provide the most realistic hands-on experience, Tradefox uses Unity to power its 3D simulations. You can access these simulations via our native mobile apps or directly in your web browser via WebGL.

1. Web Browser (WebGL Capacity)

Our WebGL version allows you to run simulations without installing any software. Because Unity renders 3D graphics in real-time, your browser settings are key.

  • Supported Browsers: * Google Chrome: (Recommended) Best performance for WebAssembly.
  • Microsoft Edge: (Chromium-based) Fully supported.
  • Mozilla Firefox: Supported.
  • Apple Safari: Version 15.0 or later required.
  • Key Setting: Hardware Acceleration must be enabled in your browser settings to allow the simulation to use your computer’s graphics card (GPU).
  • Memory Tip: Unity WebGL content is memory-intensive. For the smoothest experience, we recommend having at least 8GB of System RAM and closing other high-usage tabs (like YouTube or other games) while training.

2. Native Mobile Apps (iOS & Android)

For the best performance, especially on older devices, we recommend using our native apps available with your Membership.

Apple iOS

  • OS Version: iOS 13.0 or later.
  • Devices: iPhone 8 or newer; iPad (5th Gen) or newer.
  • Storage: Ensure at least 500MB of free space for simulation assets.

Android

  • OS Version: Android 10.0 or later.
  • Hardware: A processor with 64-bit support is required.
  • RAM: Minimum 3GB RAM (4GB+ recommended for high-detail plumbing and electrical sims).

3. Internet Connectivity

Tradefox simulations are “streamed” to your device when you start a lesson.

  • Connection Speed: A minimum of 10 Mbps is recommended for quick loading.
  • Data Usage: While the app is efficient, initial simulation downloads can be 50MB–150MB per module. We recommend using Wi-Fi for the initial setup.

Quick Troubleshooting for Simulations

Simulation won’t load?
If you are on a browser, try an Incognito/Private window. This rules out issues caused by old browser extensions or a full cache.

Is the screen black?
Ensure your Graphics Drivers (NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel) are up to date.

Controls feel “laggy”?
Lower the resolution of your browser window or ensure your laptop is plugged into power (some laptops throttle performance on battery).
