Dans les ann\u00e9es 1940, le cuivre \u00e9tait rare et les ing\u00e9nieurs avaient besoin d'un moyen d'obtenir de nombreuses prises de courant sans utiliser beaucoup de c\u00e2bles \u00e9pais.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Leur solution \u00e9tait l'anneau : une boucle de c\u00e2ble de 2,5 mm\u00b2 partant de l'unit\u00e9 de consommation, faisant le tour des prises et revenant \u00e0 l'unit\u00e9 de consommation. Comme le courant peut circuler dans les deux sens autour de la boucle, le circuit peut transporter jusqu'\u00e0 32 amp\u00e8res avec un c\u00e2ble relativement fin.<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Un circuit radial est plus simple. Le courant passe en une seule ligne de l'unit\u00e9 de consommation \u00e0 chaque prise \u00e0 tour de r\u00f4le, pour se terminer \u00e0 la derni\u00e8re.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Il n'y a pas de boucle de retour. Pour les petites charges, il peut utiliser un c\u00e2ble de 2,5 mm\u00b2 avec un disjoncteur de 20 amp\u00e8res.
